Equator Snow Lodge stands in Kasese at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains, the snow-capped range on Uganda’s western border. It is a small, friendly lodge in wooded grounds, handy for the town, for Queen Elizabeth National Park and for trekking in the Rwenzoris.
It suits travellers who want a comfortable, good-value base at the end of the day, rather than a remote luxury camp. Rooms are simple country cottages, and the lodge has a restaurant, a bar and breakfast included.

The Rwenzori Mountains are among Africa’s great trekking areas, with routes from gentle day walks to multi-day treks towards the glaciated peaks. We arrange the guides and park fees.
Village and cultural visits
Visits to Bakonzo villages and homesteads give a window into mountain farming life, with local food and performances.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
The park’s game drives and the Kazinga Channel are within reach of Kasese, so the lodge works as a base for wildlife as well as walking.
Kibale Forest
Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale can be added to a stay in this part of western Uganda.
Access & location
Kasese has a small airstrip and lies on the main road between Fort Portal and Queen Elizabeth National Park. We arrange transfers and can combine a stay here with chimpanzee tracking, a Rwenzori trek or a stay at Mweya.
