Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali City Tour, Transfer to Bwindi
Our driver guide picks you up to start your safari. He briefs you about the trip. You then take a Kigali City Tour, visiting sites like the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Thereafter, you will start a journey to Uganda with border crossing at Cyanika border. After clearing the border, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy views of the highlands and hills of Rwanda and Southwestern Uganda. Lunch will be enjoyed en-route. Check in at the lodge and relax until dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest
Wake up early for breakfast and meet your guide. Then head to the park’s headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing about gorillas. During the briefing, a senior ranger guide explains the rules. He also shows you how to behave around the mountain gorillas. In groups of 8 people, you are allocated a gorilla family to trek. Then head into the forest to look for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 6 hours or more. It depends on where the gorillas spent the previous night.
With the help of a ranger guide, you locate the gorilla family. You spend one hour in their presence. Watch them groom, feed and play, and take pictures and videos. During your gorilla trekking in Bwindi, you will also be able to see other primates and animals like forest elephants sharing the forest with mountain gorillas. After this mind-blowing encounter, trek back to the park headquarters. Pick up your gorilla trekking certificates. Then head back to the lodge for an evening of rest.

Day 3: Departure
Enjoy a leisure breakfast, meet your guide and check out of your lodge. Then drive back to Kigali, crossing the border at Cyanika. If you missed Kigali City on the first day, you can explore it today.
Later, your guide drops you off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport. This brings your Uganda gorilla trekking safari to an end.
