Serengeti Sopa Lodge stands on a hilltop in the Serengeti National Park, in acacia woodland on the Nyarobo Hills, with views out over the plains. Access is along a steep, rocky track.
It is a hotel-style lodge with a personal feel despite its size, and is good value for families. It runs on solar power backed by a generator, with a pool, a bar and a gym on site.

You will need a vehicle and guide for game drives, and we arrange those as part of your safari.
Game drives
The lodge has no guides of its own, so you explore the Serengeti with your own vehicle and guide. Resident game is good all year, and the wildebeest migration passes the lodge area around May.
Hot air balloon
Hot air balloon flights over the plains can be added to your stay.
Birdwatching and cultural talks
Birdwatching is popular on the hillside, and the lodge offers cultural talks.
Access & location
The lodge is about 45 kilometres, or around 50 minutes, from the Seronera airstrip, and roughly 61 kilometres from the Naabi Hill gate, along a steep and rocky track. We arrange your transfers and recommend two to three nights.

The Agama Bar has large windows, and the dining room serves buffet meals, and à la carte when guest numbers are lower. There is a swimming pool with a pool bar, a small gym, a TV room and a curio shop, and free Wi-Fi in the main areas. Power runs round the clock, mainly from solar panels with a generator as backup.

Most rooms are standard rooms on two floors with large glass windows and a balcony or verandah, and a few interconnect for families. The four suites are double-storey, with a lounge downstairs and a bedroom with a king bed upstairs. We confirm the room mix for your dates when we quote.
