Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park, Rhino Tracking

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your driver guide shall pick you and after a short briefing you proceed to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking experience. Proceed to the park arriving late in the evening, check-in and have dinner.

Overnight stay at Parkuba Safari Lodge for Mid-range, Paara Safari Lodge for Mid-Luxury

Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner

Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise   

After breakfast, connect for a morning game drive where you will be able to view different animals like elephants, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeests, waterbucks, oribi, giraffes, warthogs, view predators like lions and leopards among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will connect for an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile which will give you an exciting panoramic view of the might Murchison Falls from the bottom. Along the cruise, you will encounter crocodiles, hippos, and other birds on the river banks like kingfishers, cormorants, and bee-eater. Return to the lodge with an en-route evening game drive to find some animals. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park, Tea Plantation Visit

Enjoy early breakfast, depart the lodge and proceed for your long journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Known as Africa’s Primate Capital, Kibale Forest National Park is home to the highest population of chimpanzees and other 12 primate species. These include red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkey and many more.

You will have lunch in Fort Portal, proceed with your journey to Kibale Forest with an en-route visit of the tea plantations. On a clear day, be sure to take amazing pictures and also learn about the way tea is grown, harvested and proceed with the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience

After breakfast, you will set out for chimpanzee tracking within Kibale Forest. During your search for chimpanzees, expect to see a lot of primate species like chimpanzees, monkeys and other animals like forest elephants, bush pig and duikers, warthogs, reptiles, and amphibians as well as a colorful variety of butteries. Return to the lodge for lunch.

Choose to spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at the lodge, or enjoy an optional Bigodi Swamp Walk. Dinner and an overnight stay as above. 

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Set out for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park enjoying amazing views of the hilly area. Make a lunch stop en-route, and after you will proceed to Bwindi Forest in preparation for your next day Gorilla Habituation Experience. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a briefing about the rules and regulations to following during the gorilla trekking. After the briefing you will join a team of researchers, scientists, park guides and start trekking. Gorilla trekking experience is a full day activity and during trekking you will be able to see other wildlife species including other primate species, different trees among others.

Once the gorillas are located you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat giving you an opportunity to learn and monitor their habits, behaviors, watch them feed, breastfeed, play, engage in the naming process, take photos among others.  After a face to face interaction with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet your driver guide, transfer back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay as above.

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe

 After an early breakfast, checkout of your lodge and proceed on a transfer to Entebbe enjoying lunch en-route and an Equator stop for a polar water experience. You shall be dropped off at your hotel at Entebbe. Check-in, relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight.

Day 8: Airport Drop Off

Wake up to an early breakfast and proceed to checkout, and transfer to the airport arriving in time for your check in. This brings your 8 Days Uganda Safari to an end.
