5 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking, Gorilla Habituation and Wildlife Safari

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide. After briefing you about your safari, we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for pictures and in Mbarara for lunch.

Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park passing through the beautiful rolling hills of Kisoro which are referred to as the Switzerland of Africa. Arrive in the park in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head the park for gorilla trekking with your packed lunch. Join other trekkers at the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking. Rangers explain how to behave around gorillas. In groups of 8 people, you are assigned a gorilla family to trek. With an armed ranger guide, you head into the forests of Bwindi to look for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 6 hours. It depends on where the gorillas spent the previous night.

When you locate these gentle giants, you spend one hour in their presence. Take amazing pictures as they feed, groom each other and play. After this precious hour with the gorillas, trek back to the park headquarters. Collect your trekking certificates, meet your guide and head back to your lodge to rest.

After breakfast, you will head back to the park this time for a gorilla habituation experience. After the briefing, you are grouped into 4 people. Head into the forest to look for a semi-habituated gorilla family together with scientists and researchers.

You will take part in collecting samples about the gorillas, take park in naming them among others. After this full day experience, you will head back to your lodge for freshening up and rest. Later, you will checkout and embark on a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late in the afternoon, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Enjoy breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. You see animals including waterbucks, impalas, lions, antelopes, warthogs, elephants, buffaloes and many birds. Later you will return to the lodge for lunch and short rest.

Later in the afternoon, head to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. You watch hippos and crocodiles in the water. Herds of elephants, buffaloes and many birds line the banks. Later on, you will head straight to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive. Explore areas you did not visit on the previous drives. Then exit, and embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch.

You will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home or at your hotel in Entebbe.
