Activities
Almost every guest is here for the volcanoes. Your trek starts at the park headquarters, a short drive from the hotel.
Gorilla trekking
Groups are limited to eight people. Treks can last from around half an hour to several hours depending on where the family has moved, and you spend about an hour with the gorillas once you find them. Permits are limited, so we arrange yours well ahead.
Golden monkey trekking
Golden monkeys live in the bamboo zone on the volcano slopes. Trekking them is a shorter, gentler outing that pairs well with a gorilla day or a rest day.
Rest after the trek
Back at the hotel you can soak in the pool, relax in the garden hammocks or book a massage, which is charged separately. The hotel also cleans boots and lends gaiters for the trek.

Five Volcanoes is in Musanze, on the road to Kinigi, a short drive from the Volcanoes National Park headquarters. It is reached by road from Kigali, and we arrange your transfers and your trekking permit together.
