Day 1: Kigali to Akagera National Park
After breakfast, you will be meet your guide for pick up from your preferred location after which you will set off for Akagera National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, later set off for an afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema, and enjoy close sights of wildlife including elephants and buffaloes along the shores of the lake and several water bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Game Drives in Akagera National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to the park for a full game drive in the northern section of Akagera National Park. The northern section of the park is ideal for game drives and spotting the wild animals is excellent thanks to its lush open savannah grasslands. Expect to see Masai giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, elephants and crocodiles. You will enjoy picnic lunch and continue exploring the park till evening. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After early breakfast at your lodge, you will depart for Volcanoes National Park with en-route Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Memorial Centre and Kimironko Market. Continue to Volcanoes National Park arriving in the evening, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave in the presence of the gorillas. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, enter into the forest looking for mountain gorillas. Upon locating these gentle giants, you will be allowed to spend only one hour in their presence watching them go on with their life.
After this amazing experience, you will trek back to the park headquarters to pick your gorilla permits, the return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will visit the Ib’Iwacu Cultural Village for local musical performances by the local people.

Day 5: Golden Monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park and transfer back to Kigali
Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and set off for Kinigi Visitor Center for briefing about golden monkey trekking. Head into the forest looking for golden monkeys and with the help of a ranger guides, you will be able to locate these beautiful endangered monkeys. Spend one hour in their presence watching them play, feed and pick bamboo shoot. Return to the lodge for relaxation and refreshment, check out and embark on a journey Kigali. Your guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your international flight back home.
